The New Jersey Initial Response Team (NJIRT) is a regional, all volunteer organization based in Sussex County, New Jersey. We provide Search and Rescue (SAR) and specialized rescue resources to local Emergency Services Agencies when requested. Some of our services include:

Contacting Us

For Emergencies Only: Call us at 877-738-1936. The NJIRT is contacted through a 24 hour dispatch service. The Team can be alerted by any private citizen or local, state, or Federal agency. Once a page has been initiated, contact will be established by one of the Team's Officers. Based on the available information, they will evaluate the situation, establish a level of urgency, and begin mobilizing the appropriate resources for the situation. They may also initiate contact with other area SAR providers who might be needed as well for the mission.

Team personnel are generally mobilized within 30 minutes of notification and our "on scene" time is travel dependent.

For Routine Contacts: Please email us at: NJIRT@njirt.org

We also maintain a page at Facebook, where we provide some regular updates.
